Why academic Chinese matters
Conversational Chinese is not enough for university study. Academic Chinese includes the specific vocabulary of lectures, seminars, lab work and exams. This course prepares you for what actually awaits you in your first semester studying in Chinese.
Course content
Academic listening (note-taking during lectures), reading academic papers and textbooks, writing essays and coursework in Chinese, presentations and public speaking, participation in seminar discussions. Specialised modules in your field: IT, medicine, economics, engineering.
Who it's for
Students with HSK 4+ who are entering bachelor's or master's programmes taught in Chinese. The course is also useful for students already studying in China who want to improve their academic performance.
