Top 10 questions from parents

Is China safe?

China is one of the safest countries in the world. CCTV everywhere, low crime rates, safe public transport even at night. Students live in guarded dormitories on campus.

How does adaptation work?

The first 2–3 months are the hardest. We assign a curator who helps with everyday life, documents, and culture shock. There's a 24/7 support chat and a community of fellow students.

How to deal with the language barrier?

The first year is an intensive language course. After 6 months students can handle everyday conversations. After a year they pass HSK 4 and can study in Chinese. English also helps during the transition.

What are the real scholarship chances?

Scholarships exist (CSC, Belt & Road, university-level), but competition is high. We honestly assess each student's chances and help with applications. We don't promise guaranteed scholarships — that would be dishonest.

How much does study and living cost?

Tuition: $2,000–$8,000/year depending on university and program. Dormitory: $400–$1,200/year. Food and living: $200–$400/month. Total: realistic budget starts at $5,000–$6,000/year.

Can you study for free?

Technically yes — with a full scholarship. But that's a tiny percentage of students. Counting on free education as your main plan is risky. Better to plan a budget and view a scholarship as a bonus.

What documents are needed?

Basic set: passport, diploma with notarized translation, medical examination, photos, motivation letter. For minors — notarized parental consent. The full list depends on the program.

How to stay in touch?

WhatsApp, Telegram and video calls work in China via VPN. We help set up VPN on day one. Time difference with Europe is 6–7 hours, which is manageable.

Who is responsible for the child?

For minors, a guardian is assigned in China (usually a school staff member). We coordinate with the guardian and school, providing monthly reports to parents on progress and well-being.

What if something goes wrong?

We have protocols for emergencies: illness, conflicts, document issues. The curator is available 24/7. In extreme cases we help with returning home. In 5 years of work there have been no serious incidents.
